Notables this week

I have to say, this past week was a tough one. I had lost my Aunt on Friday. It wasn’t unexpected and in fact she can now rest easy and is no longer in any pain. She carried a lot of core memories for me. She introduced me to a lot of pop culture. She loved taking me to get McDonald’s breakfast, to which I would be very excited for! She had Cable and our family did not. Did I mention she was my neighbor?? Yeah, it was the best. My Mom would send me over to her house when I was just a little kid to spend time with her. I think it was really about giving my Mom and Dad alone time so they can provide me with 3 more siblings. I would sit there and watch my favorite cartoon the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which she would call me her little Ninja Turtle. She encouraged my creative and curious mind. My Aunt Kathy had a red convertible car and would drive me around with the top down. It was the best. I remember one time she took me to the drive-in to see Jurassic Park for the first time. I remember being terrified when the T-Rex broke free, I hide immediately under the passenger seat. Core memories. Rest in peace Aunt Kathy and enjoy being reunited with all your loved ones. You will be missed but will always remain within us now.

This cold weather doesn’t help staying in routine with my exercise classes. All my body has wanted to do was just survive. I really miss the warm weather and being on top of my fitness. I know I can push myself to lock it in and get back to where I want to be physically. My apartment is so cold. Last heating bill was almost $400 and I wasn’t even blasting the heat, nor did my apartment ever really stay warm. I’m leaving at the end of the month to go visit my dad in his home town. I haven’t been in about 30 years. I am way over due! I’m just going for a quick long weekend get away. I will be happy to be in weather that will be above 50 degrees. Last year this time I fly out to LA to visit my friend Julia. That was a much needed trip because I just had my ex move out of my apartment and the cold was already pretty depressing. Los Angelos was the trip I needed to spring back out of a break up funk and get my shit going! I then stayed into hyper drive and started living the way I wanted to live. I can’t believe its been a year. I’m very excited for this year because I feel like I know exactly how I want to live my summer and spend my single time. Just doing things that make me happy! And if I find someone that makes me excited or lights me up, so be it.

Well, I do have a goal before I leave for Mexico. And that is to go through all my clothes and get my 2nd bedroom converted into my new walk in closet. I am very excited about that and being able to throw amazing fits together with ease. The fits this year are going to be fitting. So watch out Insta! More Selfie Mirror shots are coming for ya!

Entertainment this week

T.V. - I started watching this last night and I was laughing and cringing at the same time. It brought me back to those weird but simple but also complicated times. The college days, even though I didn’t go away for school, I did visit a lot of friends. I loved it because I got to get a taste of so many different college lifestyles. Well, go check out this show, because its very funny and cute.

Movies - Shout out to me seeing this at the Drive-In for the first time in a convertible

Music - These kids rock so hard and so excited for the future of punk rock!
