Notables this week

Last time I was out in LA was about a decade ago. I had just gotten out of a relationship and had just started pursuing comedy. Here I am, a decade later, and I’m doing it again. It’s never fun going through a break-up. Especially going through a break-up sober. I have never been so sad and thankful at the same time. Sad that I’m going through a break-up. Thankful that I’m going through this breakup sober. Before I used to just drown myself with booze and suppress the sadness. Sobriety makes you face your feelings head-on. Makes you sit in those feelings and process those feelings. In doing that work, it truly helps the process of healing from the break-up in such a beautiful, healthy way. Still doesn’t make it easy but makes you understand why it happened and helps you understand a little more about yourself. Helps you grow as a human and makes you stronger.

I’m so excited to go see my friend Julia! She was the first person to really get me to travel outside of Chicago as an adult. I am beyond thankful for our friendship, and she has always been there for me. Very lucky to have a friend like her! We have some fun things planned, but it’s mainly going to be a chill weekend. You need to definitely watch my stories on Instagram to keep up with the fun!

Oh I bet you’re wondering why I’m standing naked on the beach? Well the last time I was in LA, this photo was taken.

It was labor day weekend and it was the last full day in LA we had. I went with all my grade school buddies and meet up with some of my comedy friends but we were all there to visit Julia. We thought it would be fun to have a beach day and then go barbecue. So Julia recommended we go to Manhattan beach just south of Venice, much cleaner! When we arrived at the beach, we found a spot and settled. Not long into being at the beach I saw how big the waves were and got immediately excited. It reminded me of going to the Jersey Shore as a kid and playing in the waves. So I ripped off my shirt and ran straight into the Ocean. I had ignored the double red flags warning me not to go into the water. Couple of friends joined me as I ran into the Ocean. I just remember having fun playing in the ocean but turning around and realizing that my buddies that followed me in are no longer in the ocean with me. This is when the Ocean started to get a little bit more aggressive and my body was becoming exhausted. I remember at one point after looking towards the shore, I turned around to one of the biggest waves ive seen a while and felt its pull. I knew I had to escape it but was too intimadated to run towards it and dive under. I was fighting it, thinking I could run away from it. I was wrong. The wave had crashed down on me while I was trying to dive underneath it. It destroyed my body against the Ocean floor. I emerged from the castograhpy completely out of breath. As I tried to catch my breath, I realized another huge wave was headed towards my way. I tried to run towards it but again this time it was too late and the same thing happend. Except this time the Ocean stripped me from my bathing suit and I was getting wrecked by the Ocean naked. I remember being under water while my shorts where being pulled off by the current. I tried to catch it with my foot which I had luck doing so but when I was reaching to grab my shorts the flew off my foot. I remeber thinking I was going to die in the Ocean naked. I emerged again but this time a third wave had entered and it was the largest one. I remember giving myself a pep talk that no matter what, after this wave swallows me whole. Im going to run towards the shore with all my might. I again get banged around smacked against the hard Ocean floor. I rise and swim towards the shore as I survied death. I was so exhausted that I couldnt even walk back to the area we choose to settle down and just screamed for my friends to grab me a towel. My friend Julia immediatly turned around and grabed her camera and started shooting. Im beyond thankful she did because I know have an amazing photo to go along with this story. My friend Rollin brought me a towel and wrapped my body up as little kids were crying on the beach because of my near death experince. As soon as Rollin wrapped me up in a towel, the Ocean gave me a gift. It was my shorts that it spit out right along my feet. I thought these were my lucky shorts and still hold on to them to this day. I also remember some random guy walking up to us and saying how my friends are assholes. I laughed because I knew that wasnt true but it just looked that way. I will definitely not being going into the Ocean this trip mainly because its fucking Februrary and not that im scared from the experience. I’ll be back soon!

T.V. - SNL 50 years

They are Airing the 50 year special anniversary this Sunday February 16th 2025.

My god, the appreciation I have for this show. To come up with a weekly segment and to entertain the so many people. The pressure! I love it! I also loved watching the history of SNL on Peacock.

I will be airing the SNL 50 year Anniversary Episode this Sunday LIVE at the bar! come by and grab some food and drinks and enjoy some laughs!

Movies - Do you have a favorite Theater?

I love the Music Box but do not go enough. This year I need to start looking more into going to the movies and trying out different theaters. The Theater I go to the most is the Webster Theater, which I feel like they had the best seats! The amount of time I passed out in those Chairs should be illegal…

This is the first time im not taking a early flight out. My flight time isnt unitl 5pm. I am beyond excited to sleep in and take my time getting ready to leave for the airport. Might go to Big Star before and grab some late lunch and then hop on the blue line to Ohare. Im use to being on only a few hours of sleep and then my entire next day of travel and vacation will be all thrown off! Not this time! real goal is to have a couple days off before my vacation and then a couple days off when I get back from Vacation. Thats the dream and I know Ill get there at some point.
