Notables this week

Nothing is worse than when you have a drive and the excitement to get things done, and life throws curve balls at you. I’ve been dying to film and put out a vlog video version of this newsletter. But getting sick sucks and makes you not want to do anything but survive. Truly makes you humbled and thankful for the small things in life that we all take for granted. I know it’s flu season, but stay safe out there, y’all! Shits going around!

Writing a newsletter and putting together a vlog is insane. I obviously write out my newsletter about the future. The vlog will be filmed and edited to be released the same day the newsletter is out. So I have a question for myself. Do I film my vlog describing my future week? Or do I film for the present? So when I release the newsletter, the vlog will be attached, and you can read what the week will bring for me and then watch how the week went for me? Let me know what you guys think! Email me [email protected] ! So this week I will be filming me traveling to LA and hanging out in LA. This is all a work in process, and you all are the early adopters! So thank you! Trust me, this is only going to get better! Im having fun with it!

Hopefully, I will be rejuvenated by the time I get back from LA. I’ve got some things to do! I have to redesign my new apartment. I want to convert one of the bedrooms into my walk-in closet with in-unit laundry in the room. Then convert the other bedroom into my studio slash work space. Then I’ll save this for last, hopefully done by the summer, is my front room. I want to put together a HiFi set up with some nice leather cigar chairs facing out the window towards the park. Maybe put some bear skin rug on the ground in front of the fake fireplace?

I’m excited!

Saying Hi from LA!

Day one has been Nice! Just hit the streets and everyone I’ve meet out here is named Mike. Its honestly really nice meeting strangers and people on the street or while they work. Its fun hearing their stories and seeing their curiosity about you. You can see them processing you and then intrigued about who you are and why you’re in their City. First Person I met was Dennis. He was my Uber Driver and moved to LA from Russia. He wants to be a DJ and has been learning a lot in LA. He said hes been taking classes and learning as much as he can while he ubers. He said his next move is either Chicago or Seattle where one of his friends are in. I immediately told him to go to Chicago. He was curious about how expensive it would be and I said you can make it as expensive as you want it to be and find affordable living and places to eat. I asked him what he pays here. He said he pays $2100 for a one bedroom one bath with no Roaches. Hahaha. I said if you can swing that, then you can survive in Chicago.

After Dennis dropped me off at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood. I ran over to the dispensary but they had JUST closed! Damn, I was kicking rocks. I just walked to the liquor store and paid Sixteen Dollars and change for a Six pack of Heineken Zero. WOOF! I went back to my room to drop off the Six pack and then proceeded to get some food. I ended up at the Saddle Ranch. Thats where I met Mike. He immediately noticed my Peak Design capture clip on my camera bag and was geeking out. It was fun talking with him and his passion for film and cameras. He was hustling behind this big circle bar. He reminded me of my boy Mike that works at Glascotts thats an absolutle beast behind the bar and super fast. I wanted to call my Mike and let him know I found me a LA Mike. Both looked the same and talked the same. It was wild!

After leaving the restaurant, I was walking up and down the street and saw a guy smoking a blunt. I stopped, looked at him and asked, you mind if I join ya? He gave me a look of hell nah! I said I just landed from Chicago and the dispensary just closed and just wanted a couple drags to get me through the night. He complied and said since I was a guest in his town. I asked what his name was, he said Mike. Hahaha. He was so nice. He was there celebrating his girls birthday but needed to step out to smoke. He said I just came in time and missed all the rain. He said it was good for the fires. I asked him how that was and he said it was crazy! He said crazy winds blowing hot air all around. He said he was blessed and him and his family were fine. I dabbed him up and thanked him for his generosity and he said that god blesses us all in mysterious ways. God bless you MIke!

Then I walked over to the comedy store to grab a night cap. They had a bar that was outside in front of the store. It was cool people watching for sure! I met Amy the bartender. She was telling wild stories of dropping Acid on multiple layover flights and not knowing how she even got by to being in NOLA for the super bowl back when Baltimore one that year in 2013. She had so many stories. I said you have some people watching after her. She jumped on that and said “I DO!” and rattled off a bunch of names and most recent her brother. He passed about 6 months ago. Another comdian walked up and yelled “you talking about your dead brother still?” everyone laughed. Comedy is all about timing. I felt for her but she seemed to be in a good place. I love how comedy can help us heal. Its been one of my biggest passions and has helped me get through so many difficult times.

This was a much needed trip!

Entertainment this week

T.V. - Okay we have too much to watch but this is a good thing!

My weekly watches will be Summer House, Southern Charm and White Lotus for the next couple months. Hopefully this will get me through this cold gross winter.

Also on the plane I started Severance. Im not that crazy about it but im invested and now have to finish it.

Thank YOU Julia for being such a great friend and putting me up! I had an amazing time catching up with you and having a great weekend get away!

But I have a full day because my flight isn’t until 1am Monday Morning and land in Chicago around 5am. WOOF! So I probably wont get home until 6am and then Im going straight to bed and waking up around 2pm…

Okay this is BRAVO DAY! I will be catching up on last weeks episode because I was traveling to LA and had missed it. So during the day I will work on the vlog and newsletter. Then around 5pm I will be calling it quits and putting on some sexy comfy clothes and ordering takeout as I rot on the couch all night watching all the Summer House, Southern Charm and WWHL!
